One of Google's quirks means that once an article has been crawled and indexed, any changes won't necessarily be picked up by Google until it's too late.

Hy Barry, what if we put the live structure data in a regular article, not a live one? Can Google penalise us for this?
Why would you do that? Deceiving Google is generally not an advisable strategy.
I tried this and sky-rocketed the CTR, which is obvious. but I removed after a while, as you said tricking Google isn't a good idea.
